For visitors to be able to open and use your website quickly, you need to host it on a web host. The site is allocated space on the server, so that it is available to visitors from different countries around the clock and every day.

Therefore, when creating their own website (online store, blog, information portal), their owners always wonder what kind of hosting they should choose. There are many providers, each of which offers several tariff plans. At the same time, site creators are particularly concerned about the quality of hosting and its security.

Hosting can be paid or free. Paid servers are stable, have wide capabilities, high technical characteristics and capacity, and allow a web project to stand firmly without problems and interruptions. Free servers, unlike paid ones, have limited functionality and can expose your project to all sorts of risks.

The choice of a web host should be based on its loyalty, technical capabilities, and the requirements of your project. Therefore, before choosing a hosting for your website, you need to study their types in detail.

Virtual hosting

The most popular type of website hosting with a provider. It involves placing a large number of websites on a single server with a separate location for each project. All sites use the same software and functions.

This service has limited traffic, space for each site, and a list of services according to the chosen tariff. However, it is the best option for small websites with up to 1500 visitors per day.

Suitable for: small websites. A good and inexpensive option that allows you to save on rent by providing a wide range of functionality and packages. The rental price does not exceed $5–10 per month

Physical hosting

A web host provides its own server for hosting a website. The contractor connects the server in its data centre and provides it with stability, uninterrupted operation, technical support and security of all data stored on the physical hosting for the client. At the same time, all the technical capabilities of the server are aimed only at the project hosted on it.

Suitable for: all large and important projects. It can be used both for one project and for several at the same time. This is the most expensive (and most reliable) web hosting option, but when used for several sites, it allows you to save money and becomes more profitable than shared hosting.

Virtual private server (VPS)

In terms of its functions, this type of hosting is similar to physical hosting in that it allows the use of alternative software. In addition, a website located on a dedicated server automatically has access to a physical server, which eliminates competition among other hosted projects at times of high load.

Suitable for: large web projects and websites with up to 15,000 visitors per day. The rental price is $20–50 per month. Assumes a large amount of virtual space and allows you to place a huge number of files.

Cloud hosting

This type is the most flexible and resilient to loads. It consists of several servers combined into a group. This significantly increases the capacity of the web hosting and, as a result, the capacity of the site. The stability of a website located on cloud hosting is ensured by the interchangeability of servers. If one server goes down or crashes completely, the other will continue to work. Hosting resources can vary depending on the load on it.

Suitable for: any type of website. The cost of the lease varies with the server load. It is not fixed, but depends on the individual resources involved. For example, the number of users, traffic, etc. At the same time, you do not need to pay for the resources that are not used on the server during a certain period.
